Plant Relocation & Used Lines

A well-maintained used production line from Europe can give an investor proven technology at a fraction of the cost of a new one. The value depends on how carefully the line is checked, taken apart, moved and rebuilt. Wavy Solutions manages the full relocation, from the first inspection in Europe to production at the new site.

Our relocation experience

We have carried out several plant relocations across the Middle East, including paper mills, a viscose factory and a factory in Egypt. This work taught us where relocations go wrong: missing parts, unmarked cables, lost documentation, foundations that do not match, and control systems that do not start. Our method is built to prevent these problems. We treat a relocation as an engineering project with its own plan, budget and schedule, with the same care we apply to a new plant.

Finding and checking the line

We search the European used machinery market and our supplier network for lines that match the client's product and capacity. Before any purchase, our engineers inspect the line, ideally while it is still running. We check its condition, service history, control systems, spare parts and documentation, and we judge which components should be replaced or upgraded. The client receives a clear report with our recommendation, an estimate of the full relocation cost and the risks we see. This lets the investor decide on facts before money is committed.

Dismantling, shipping and reinstallation

Before dismantling, every machine, pipe and cable is photographed, marked and recorded. Parts are packed for sea transport, and we arrange shipping, insurance and customs paperwork. At the new site, we prepare foundation drawings and utility connections in advance so installation can start as soon as the containers arrive. Our team supervises mechanical and electrical reinstallation, then recommissions the line step by step until it reaches stable production. Where it makes sense, we modernise drives or controls during the move.

What the client should prepare

The client should define the product, the target capacity and the budget range for the line and its relocation. We need details of the destination site, including building size, floor loads, crane access, power supply and other utilities. Early clarity on import requirements and local permits avoids delays at the port. The client should also plan the operating team, since their presence during recommissioning is the best way for them to learn the line and take over production with confidence.
